Ever have one of those days where all within the home is chaotic and wild? As a mother of four, with my children ranging in age from 9 years old to 7 months old, my days are almost ALWAYS like this. Take this past Sunday for example:
The baby didn’t sleep well during the night (therefore, neither did I), so I figured I sleep in with him in the morning, and when I woke up….there were piles of dishes cluttered all over the island, and who-knows-what spilled on the floor!
On top of that, the kids were all cranky and saying they were “bored”… I glanced outside and saw that it was snowing and cloudy; it was then decided- this mama was not leaving the house!
With it being so cold outside, I wanted to make a dish that would warm me up, so I decided to make some fried fish- an all time winter favorite dish of mine! So, I headed for the pantry, grabbed some Shan Fried Fish Mix, and got to work!
While the fish was marinating, I decided to tackle the huge pile of dishes. About 14759694 hours later- okay, okay, I’m totally exaggerating, BUT, it did seem like I was washing those dishes forever– I attempted to clean the oh-so-sticky floor.
Finally, the cleaning was done and it was time to fry the fish! Let me tell you all- the smell was amazing, so much so, that it made the kids rush upstairs from the basement to ask what was cooking! Not only did it smell good, but it tasted good too! Plus, this was the easiest fried fish recipe I have tried- besides the fish itself, you only need 3 other ingredients! Perfect for any busy mama like myself!
Here’s the recipe:
- Fish 1 kg
- Garlic Paste 2-3 tbs
- Cooking Oil 2-3 cups
- Shan Fried Fish Mix 1 packet
- Mix Garlic paste, Shan Fried Fish Mix, and one tablespoon oil. Apply on fish. Set aside for 2-3 hours.
- Fry fish in hot oil until lightly golden.
That’s it! So simple, right?! The final thing to do is to eat and enjoy before the kids come attack you!
